Increase in Mexican Product Consumption Abroad

The company Gruma reported that the consumption of its Mexican-origin products, such as corn flour, tortillas, and wraps, is expanding mainly in the United States and Europe. During the third quarter of the year, the company reported a sales volume of 1,086 thousand metric tons.

Gruma, recently noted by the Federal Antitrust Commission (Cofece) for its dominant position in the Mexican market, highlights that the United States is its most important market. There, the healthy product line "Better for You" is gaining popularity among consumers. In Europe, products from the global brand Mission, especially tortillas, are being very well received as accompaniments to a variety of foods across the continent.

In the United States, Gruma maintained a stable sales volume, reaching 398 thousand tons and net sales of 917.4 million dollars in the third quarter. In Europe, sales volumes remained stable at 102 thousand tons, with a 5% increase in net sales. In Asia and Oceania, Gruma's sales grew by 5%, maintaining stable sales volumes.

In Central America, the company reported a positive trend due to an increased product offer. During the third quarter of the year, 6% growth in sales volume was achieved, along with a 10% increase in net sales. Lastly, in Mexico, the sales volumes of Grupo Industrial Maseca (GIMSA) remained at the same level as the previous year, registering a slight contraction of 1% in net sales due to price reductions during the period.
