The elected governor, Alejandro Armenta Mier, met with President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo to discuss the infrastructure and mobility projects planned for the state, such as the Mexico-Puebla-Veracruz Passenger Train and the expansion of the superhighway to Amozoc.
During the meeting, an action plan was discussed for the lane expansion that will improve connectivity between the center of the country and the Gulf of Mexico as part of the national project. Armenta Mier visited the city of Yucatán to accompany the head of the federal Executive and continue working on the projected highway infrastructure and mobility programs for Puebla.
The elected governor detailed that, along with the expansion of the Puebla-Amozoc superhighway, adjustments are planned to improve and expand the road to Izúcar de Matamoros, in a dual-lane section that will connect with the road to Las Palomas, heading towards the municipality of Acatlán de Osorio. The expansion of another road section connecting Acatlán de Osorio with La Colorada, then to the town of Ixcaquixtla is also being considered.
The project aims to connect the dual-lane branch that goes to the Empalme Tecamachalco section and finally link with the road to Tehuacán, forming a circuit that will connect the Sierra Negra with the Mixteca by land.
Alejandro Armenta Mier emphasized that this highway infrastructure plan aims, besides streamlining mobility, to promote archaeological sites, tourist areas, and magical towns to showcase Puebla's cultural, gastronomic, and industrial richness nationally and internationally.
