
On Monday, January 27, the 2025 school year will begin for students following the semester academic plan at UNAM. Classes will conclude on May 23. Nearly 374,000 students and more than 42,000 academics will resume activities in 16 faculties, nine multidisciplinary units, and five national schools.
Classes for the Faculty of Engineering will begin on February 4, as the re-enrollment process will restart from scratch on January 30. A total of 32,578 graduate students, 233,346 undergraduate students, 147,061 high school students, and 697 technical and preparatory students from the Faculty of Music will return to classes.
UNAM has five different start dates for the school year, which are governed by the annual calendar and will end the 2024-2025 school year on April 25. At the five campuses of the College of Sciences and Humanities, classes started on January 20; the second semester for students will end on May 16. For undergraduate programs governed by the annual plan, the school year will conclude on May 2, 2025.
The academic calendar for the 2025-2 cycle at UNAM establishes five days off for undergraduate and high school students. The holidays set by the foremost educational institution are February 3, March 17, May 1, May 10, and May 15. These rest days will allow students to plan their time and optimally prepare their activities for the new semester that begins.
The first to return to classes were the students from the nine campuses of the National Preparatory School on January 6. The holidays for students of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) have ended.
