During the 2026 Easter holiday period, the state of Jalisco has registered high visitor mobility in tourist destinations, recreational centers, and religious events, which has required the deployment of surveillance operations in various regions. In this context, the Jalisco State Civil Protection and Fire Department (UEPCBJ) announced that it maintains the inter-institutional operation active, with the objective of attending to emergencies and reinforcing prevention actions due to the concentration of people.
Over 700,000 tourists moved to the state According to authorities, during the first week of the holiday period, an influx of 712,378 people was reported in the state, of which 250,995 went to beaches and recreational centers, and 461,383 attended religious events. Operations were implemented in high-traffic areas such as Bosque La Primavera, Mazamitla, and Tapalpa.
In Bosque La Primavera, from April 2 to 5, 46,791 visitors and 11,998 vehicles were registered, while April 5 concentrated 10,503 people and 2,617 vehicles.
Incidents and attention to injured people At the latest report from state authorities, 118 traffic accidents, 43 structural fires, 53 forest fires, and 103 other types of fires are reported, as well as 11 rescues. In medical care, 1,157 pre-hospital services were provided, and 208 injured people were registered.
Death toll during Holy Week Similarly, it was reported that 27 deaths are counted: 13 in car accidents, seven on motorcycles, and seven by drowning and boating incidents. 76% of the deaths are related to mobility events. Nearly 80% occurred in municipalities within the state. The drowning cases were recorded in inland water bodies, with no incidents on beaches.
The State Government confirmed that the operation will continue for the rest of the holiday period with surveillance, prevention, and emergency response work.
