Wendy Guevara Shares Emotional Story on Live Stream

During a live broadcast, Wendy Guevara shared a personal experience with all her followers, which she says makes her feel identified with the Netflix series 'El Secreto del Río'. The famous figure mentioned that this film reminded her of a painful episode experienced by a close friend named 'Nava', who, like the character 'Solange' in the series, was dressed as a man after her death despite wanting to be remembered as a woman.

The series directed by Ernesto Contreras premiered on October 9 on Netflix and has been one of the most viewed productions in Mexico these weeks. 'El Secreto del Río' addresses the difficulties faced by the LGBT+ community in Mexico, focusing on the muxe population of Oaxaca in the Isthmus of Tehuantepec. The plot follows the story of 'Manuel' and 'Erik' as they explore experiences and a special connection, conveying an important message of friendship.

Wendy Guevara expressed that the series 'El Secreto del Río' highlights the daily challenges faced by trans people, a topic she deeply identifies with. The also famous 'Perdida' lamented not being able to fulfill her friend 'Nava's' last wish: "Nava's family did the same. Nava's last wish was for us to dress her as a woman and put makeup on her, and her family did not allow Nava to leave dressed as she so wanted and liked... it’s not right".

During the live broadcast, Wendy was accompanied by Evelyn, who commented on Nava's makeup routine and how, despite that, her family did not respect her final wish. The winner of the first season of 'La Casa de los Famosos México' shared the sadness this situation caused her.
