Lucio 'N' and Diana 'N' were placed in different prisons in the State of Mexico after being linked to the process by a judge, although they have been considered innocent until a guilty verdict is issued. The Institute of Security and Social Services of State Workers (ISSSTE) reported that the baby abandoned by the couple is stable and in good physical condition.
A statement mentions: 'Both individuals were placed at the disposal of a judge, who linked them to the process; however, they must be considered innocent until a guilty verdict is handed down against them.'
After the abandonment of the newborn by Lucio 'N', Diana 'N' went to the authorities to report her partner. It was after the intervention of municipal police and paramedics that the baby was rescued in good health. In the following months, a timeline was set for the complementary investigation and the precautionary measure of justified preventive imprisonment for both defendants.
On Wednesday, February 12, Lucio David 'N' voluntarily appeared before the Attorney General's Office of Mexico City, which informed the Attorney General's Office of the State of Mexico, leading to the latter's arrest. In a hearing held in the courts of Cuautitlán, it was determined to keep the accused in preventive prison while the legal process continues.
The events occurred on Tuesday, February 11, when the baby’s father abandoned him in a plastic bag on a street in Tultitlán, State of Mexico. Diana Jaciel 'N' and Lucio David 'N' were accused of their alleged participation in the crime of attempted homicide against the newborn, being linked to the process by the Prosecutor's Office.
The video that circulated on social media shows the moment the baby is left on the street wrapped in a bag, but fortunately, he was found and assisted by a neighbor who heard his cries after the alarm of a nearby car was activated.
