Measles is a contagious viral disease that spreads through saliva droplets in the air or through nasal or pharyngeal secretions of infected individuals. Its symptoms include fever, conjunctivitis, cough, and small spots with a white or bluish-white center.
If not properly treated, measles can lead to complications such as pneumonia, laryngotracheobronchitis, and encephalitis. During 2024, 3,444 probable cases of measles or rubella were studied, with 7 cases of measles confirmed, 2 imported, and 5 related to importation, according to health authorities.
