In Escobedo, the discovery of a newborn baby abandoned inside a trash can mobilized local authorities. The girl was found in the facilities of a meat packing company by a cleaning employee of SuKarne. This worker discovered the newborn inside a transparent bag on the bathroom floor, and noticed that the small baby still had the placenta.
The events took place in the plant located on Avenida Chocolates and Anillo Periférico, in the Villas de San Francisco neighborhood, in Escobedo. After the discovery, the minor was attended to by paramedics from the Red Cross, who transferred her to Clinic 6 of the IMSS due to her delicate state of health. The Attorney General's Office launched an investigation to clarify the circumstances under which the baby was abandoned and determine possible crimes.
The authorities are also interviewing the female staff of the company and reviewing the security cameras in an attempt to locate the mother. There is suspicion that the responsible individual could be an employee who hid her pregnancy and gave birth in the company's bathroom.
