Although the associated polar air mass will begin to gradually modify its thermal characteristics, it will continue to generate a north component wind on the coasts of Veracruz, Campeche, Yucatan, and Quintana Roo, as well as in the isthmus and the Gulf of Tehuantepec, with gusts of up to 80 kilometers per hour.

During this period, the second winter storm of the season will gradually move toward the southern United States; however, it will still promote a cold to very cold environment in most of the country, and during the morning, conditions for sleet or freezing rain in mountainous areas of Coahuila, Nuevo León, and Durango.

At the end of the day, this system will stop affecting the national territory.

Regarding the potential for winter conditions for the next 72 hours, the National Meteorological Service indicates the probability of snow and sleet in areas of Chihuahua, Durango, Sinaloa in its mountains, Zacatecas, San Luis Potosí, Coahuila, Nuevo León, and Tamaulipas.

Temperatures of less than -10 degrees Celsius are expected in mountainous areas of Durango and Chihuahua, with severe frosts, as well as values below -5 degrees Celsius in mountainous regions of Baja California, Sonora, and Coahuila, also with frosts.

Similarly, temperatures between -5 and 0 degrees Celsius are expected in mountainous areas of Nuevo León, San Luis Potosí, Zacatecas, Aguascalientes, Jalisco, Michoacán, Guanajuato, Querétaro, Hidalgo, State of Mexico, Mexico City, Morelos, Tlaxcala, Puebla, Veracruz, and Oaxaca, while in high areas of Sinaloa and Tamaulipas, values between 0 and 5 degrees Celsius are forecast.
