Therefore, I invite you: if you enjoy what is perhaps the greatest treasure we can have — health; if your body is in good condition, if your life allows you to take a pause amidst your multiple occupations, then seriously consider becoming a blood donor, which is a conscious form of service to life.
The work rhythm, family responsibilities, and social dynamics often leave little room to think about others, but amidst that dynamic, there are opportunities to do good.
From a broader perspective, it is recognized that all religions and spiritual traditions coincide on one essential principle: serving others is serving life itself.
And amidst these, blood is scarce, as fewer and fewer people are able to donate. And in these times, being deeply human is perhaps the greatest act of consciousness we can offer.
In these times when daily life has become more complex, health has become a true privilege. Current conditions — constant stress, irregular nutrition, exposure to emerging diseases, and frequent use of medication — have significantly reduced the number of people who can donate blood.
I invite you to reflect on this: what once seemed an accessible act for many has now become a limited possibility, but the need has not decreased; on the contrary, it grows in hospitals, in surgeries, in emergencies, in prolonged treatments.
As a society, we advance in certain aspects, but we also face new vulnerabilities. And when you serve life, life — or God, as each conceives it — responds in deep, surprising, and often inexplicable ways.
It is a law that manifests in the everyday: whoever gives, receives; whoever shares, multiplies; whoever serves, is blessed.
Do it as a way to honor that constant flow of love that, in one way or another, you have received, and I assure you, you will experience one of the greatest satisfactions you can live.
What better way to put this principle into practice than through a concrete, tangible, and urgent act. Donating blood, as it is, is donating life.
If you are between 18 and 65 years old, weigh more than 50 kilograms, enjoy good general health, have not consumed alcohol in the last 48 hours, are not under treatment with certain medications (such as antibiotics or anticoagulants), have not had recent surgeries, active infections, or transmissible diseases, in the case of tattoos or piercings, at least 12 months have passed, then you are a candidate for blood donation.
Each medical institution may establish additional criteria, but, in general, if you meet these conditions, then you have in your hands the possibility to serve with one of the most laudable and noble forms: saving a life from generosity and disinterested service.
More than ever, the world needs conscious people, willing to give a little of themselves to help others. Donating blood is, in essence, an act of humanity.
And believe me, it is infallible. Allow yourself that gesture.
