Today, Claudia Sheinbaum, president of Mexico, issued a message of reassurance to the Mexican community in the United States, especially before the inauguration of Donald Trump. She highlighted the importance of the treaty between Mexico, the United States, and Canada (T-MEC) and expressed her confidence that beneficial agreements will be reached for the three countries.

"Once he takes office, we will get in touch with his team and we know that there will be an agreement on various issues," said Sheinbaum, emphasizing the need for collaboration between the United States, Canada, and Mexico. In this context, a plan was also presented in case of deportations to provide support to those affected.

During the conference, emphasis was placed on the defense of the application of CBP ONE or a similar system, which facilitates asylum applications in other countries and has contributed to the reduction of migratory flows. Moreover, the commitment to provide consular support, legal advice, and a comprehensive program in case of deportations was reiterated, which includes access to social programs, employment, insurance, and return transportation to their places of origin.

In the economic sphere, the Mexico Plan was presented, aiming to implement a significant investment portfolio to boost development. Sheinbaum expressed that the government is prepared and ready to face the challenges that arise, emphasizing that they will continue to work to ensure the protection and well-being of Mexican citizens abroad.
