
In the electoral process that will take place in four municipalities of Puebla, a total of 189 polling stations will be set up as follows: 11 in Ayotoxco, 49 in Xiutetelco, 85 in Chignahuapan, and 44 in Venustiano Carranza. In this extraordinary process, there will only be common candidacies, with no formed alliances.
Morena has decided to ally with Nueva Alianza and Fuerza por México in the municipalities of Venustiano Carranza and Chignahuapan, while in Xiutetelco it will ally with the Labor Party (PT) and in Ayotoxco will participate alone. On the other hand, the National Action Party (PAN) and the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) agreed not to form alliances and will also not nominate candidates in the same municipality. Additionally, the Green Party of Mexico (PVEM) and the Labor Party (PT) have registered a common candidacy for Ayotoxco de Guerrero, leaving the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD) out of the race.
Among the registered candidacies are Alicia Guerrero (Morena and Nueva Alianza), Pedro Báez Vargas (PAN), Javier Becerril García (PVEM and PT) in Ayotoxco de Guerrero; Mario Luis Olvera Cortés (PRI), Mónica Cano Guzmán (Citizen Movement), Juan Rivera Trejo (Morena, Fuerza por México, and Nueva Alianza), Pedro Fernández Moreno (PSI) in Chignahuapan; Bryan Cruz Pérez (PSI), Ernesto García Rodríguez (Morena, PT, and PVEM), Jessica Ventura Barona (Citizen Movement), Marco Valencia Ávila (PAN) in Venustiano Carranza; and Baltazar Narciso Baltazar (PT and Morena), Esbeidi Aguirre Bruno (PSI), Germán Hilario Cano (Citizen Movement), Julieta Valdez (PVEM), Silvia Durán Altamirano (PRI) in Xiutetelco.
The Electoral Institute of the State (IEE) has initiated the extraordinary electoral process for 2025 in the mentioned municipalities, officially marking the start of the electoral ban. The elections will take place on March 23, and citizens will elect their municipal presidents. From March 5, the campaign period begins, during which the candidates will present their proposals to the electorate. The electoral ban will start on March 19, during which the dissemination of government propaganda in the media will be suspended.
During the Special Session on March 5, the General Council of the IEE of Puebla approved the agreement on the registration requests for the 17 lists that will compete for positions in the four mentioned municipalities, where there is a nominal list of 107,487 people.
