According to LPO, pending the interviews that will take place in the coming days, architect Carina Arvizu Machado would have the preferences of the 4T to occupy the position at the Planning Institute. The appointment is being conducted in Donceles, where times are being expedited following the PAN's accusation of signature forgery in the evaluation committee.
Currently, Arvizu Machado serves as the General Director of the Ministry of Economy, one of the most important agencies of the federal government. The selection process is expected to be completed in the coming days so that the local Congress can make the final decision in coordination with the administration of the Head of Government, Clara Brugada.
In the final shortlist to lead the Planning Institute are three women: Carina Arvizu Machado, Martha Laura Peña Ordoñez, and Patricia Ramírez Kuri. Interviews with the candidates will be conducted next week, who will be evaluated by the relevant committees before being voted on by the full local Congress.
Carina Arvizu Machado is an architect with international experience who served as Undersecretary of Urban Development and Housing at Sedatu between 2019 and 2020. Sources from Congress indicate that she would be the favorite to lead the Planning Institute due to her solid track record and management capacity.
The Planning Institute has been without authorities for two years, so efforts are being made to advance the appointment process along with other pending appointments from the Head of Government, Clara Brugada, as part of the changes in the CDMX administration.
