According to a national survey by El Financiero, 80% of Mexicans believe the conflict in Iran will be long-lasting, while only 15% think it will end soon. The survey reveals that only 10% of respondents believe the U.S. government was right to attack Iran, while a clear majority of 84% believe the American administration made a mistake. The survey indicates that 18% have a favorable opinion of the United States' military actions in Iran, while 73% expressed a poor or very poor opinion of these actions. When asked about Iran's response to closing the Strait of Hormuz, restricting the passage of oil tankers, 34% gave a favorable opinion and 52% an unfavorable one. According to the study, conducted from March 13-16, two weeks into the conflict, 80% of those surveyed said they had learned about the U.S. bombings in Iran. When asked for their stance on the conflict, 15% expressed support for the United States, 8% support for Iran, and a clear majority of 74% expressed a position of neutrality. Opinion of the United States is mostly negative, with 37% saying they have a good or very good opinion and 54% expressing a poor or very poor opinion of the country. Today, China has a better reputation among Mexican society, with 43% favorable opinion and 33% unfavorable. Regarding Iran, 23% gave a positive opinion, compared to 55% who expressed a negative opinion. This is slightly more favorable than the opinion towards Israel, which registered 20% positive and 55% negative opinion.
