For abuse of authority, the State Attorney General's Office (FGE) maintains 20 open cases against police officers from the Citizen Security Secretariat (SCC), its head, Colonel Félix Pallares Miranda, reported. During the Peace Conference press briefing, the official stated that these cases have been received by the Internal Affairs department, which has been following up on them to initiate the corresponding administrative procedures. He pointed out that there is no specific timeframe for the charges, as there are officers under investigation who served in both the previous and current administrations. The official emphasized the importance of citizen complaints, inviting those who are dissatisfied with the actions of municipal officers to go to the Internal Affairs unit to have their cases addressed. 'When a complaint is received, a temporary suspension is put in place while the investigation is carried out. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for these types of activities,' he expressed.
