LeBarón Family Targeted in Armed Raid in Chihuahua

The LeBarón family reported a new episode of violence in Chihuahua after alleged sicarios broke into a home linked to one of its members. Through social media, activist Adrián LeBarón warned of an increase in threats against his family in a context that, he said, reflects the insecurity situation experienced by multiple communities in the state.

Armed Raid on the LeBarón Family

In a recent message posted on X, Adrián LeBarón informed that the events occurred in the community of Alamillo, where “2 sicario trucks entered the house of a nephew trying to enforce the threats that have been made against my family for weeks.” We have already reported the facts to the authorities.

In his message, he also referred to the broader social context: “many families in the mountains (...) are displaced, threatened, extorted.” The family has maintained a policy of making all threats public and rejecting any extortion attempts.

Finally, he reiterated his family's stance of resistance: “we are not going to lose our right to live with freedom, in peace.”

The LeBarón Family and Recent Complaints

The LeBarón family is a community settled in northwestern Chihuahua, known for its activism against violence. In recent days, they also filed a formal complaint with the State Attorney General's Office, where they documented intimidating messages attributed to a criminal group.

In these messages, warnings of possible murders were issued, and family members were demanded to leave the region, in addition to including political pressure.

Although he confirmed that his nephew and his family were unharmed, he warned that the climate of violence persists: “threats continue to increase, just for wanting to do good.” These are holy days, but some demons are on the loose. In Alamillo, Chihuahua, 2 sicario trucks entered the house of a nephew trying to enforce the threats that have been made against my family for weeks. According to his testimony, more than 12 armed men participated in the incursion. The activist pointed out that the objective was to intimidate: “they want to manipulate the community and an entire region through terror”.
