The President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, confirmed her participation in the G20 Summit, which will take place on November 18 and 19. During her morning conference, Sheinbaum announced her attendance at this meeting that brings together the world's leading leaders, thus declining the invitation to receive an award from the University of Berkeley, California, which coincides with the dates of the geopolitical summit.
This decision marks a change from her predecessor, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, who usually did not participate in such conferences and made his first trip abroad in 2020 after more than a year in office, visiting then President Donald Trump.
"We have already decided that we will go to the G20 on November 18 and 19," Sheinbaum communicated, confirming that this will be her first international trip since she took office at the beginning of October. During the G20 Summit in the city of Rio de Janeiro, the Mexican leader will have the opportunity to meet important political leaders globally.
