The war in Iran began on February 28, when the United States and Israel launched airstrikes against military installations and government complexes in Tehran and other cities. Iran responded with missile and drone attacks against Israel and several neighboring Arab countries, expanding the scope of the conflict. According to preliminary figures, the attacks have left more than 1,300 dead in Iran, at least 10 in Israel, and 14 U.S. military personnel dead in various countries due to Iranian attacks.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum welcomed the rapprochement between Cuba and the United States and reiterated that her government will continue to promote diplomatic dialogue and support the Cuban people amidst renewed tensions between Washington and Havana. "That's good," she stated during her morning conference in Colima, when questioned about the recent talks between officials of both countries to explore possible solutions to their differences. Sheinbaum also confirmed that Mexico continues to send humanitarian aid to the island, an initiative that has been appreciated by Cuban authorities.

Claudia Sheinbaum also stated that each legislator is free to vote as they wish, after her electoral reform initiative was not approved by a qualified majority in the Chamber of Deputies. She confirmed that she plans to present a "Plan B" for the electoral reform next week. The President emphasized that the goal is to promote diplomatic solutions to a conflict that already has global repercussions, including rising oil prices.
