
In Guadalajara, an alleged thief who had stolen a truck near the Mercado Corona was involved in an accident while trying to flee the scene. The incident occurred near a group of pro-life protesters gathered at the Fray Antonio Alcalde walkway, just outside the cathedral, resulting in 16 people being run over, of which only two remain under medical observation.
The individual in question had stolen the truck from a family, who managed to get out of the vehicle at an intersection. Subsequently, the thief crashed into another car before heading toward the pedestrian area of Plaza Guadalajara, where a group of people was participating in a "holy hour" as part of a national celebration in favor of life.
A security video that has gone viral shows part of the stolen vehicle's course and the shocking moment it heads towards the crowd. After the incident, the municipal president Verónica Delgadillo reported that of the nine people attended by paramedics, only two remain under observation. She thanked the rapid response of emergency teams and announced that the community would be kept informed about the condition of those affected.
The individual responsible was arrested by the municipal police and identified as Sergio “N”, 31 years old. He was found in possession of a pellet gun and a knife. Fortunately, those affected by the incident are stable, thanks to the prompt attention received from the authorities and the emergency teams present at the scene.
