Guanajuato has accelerated its measles protection by administering 988,506 vaccines since 2025 as part of a strategy that combines intensive campaigns, health surveillance, and coverage at key mobility points. Gabriel Cortés Alcalá, Secretary of Health for Guanajuato, stated that this campaign allows for the protection of both the general population and personnel in contact with vulnerable groups, reinforcing prevention against potential outbreaks. The data shows a sustained progress, especially in the child population. In girls and boys aged 1 year, 120,221 doses were applied, representing 115% of the target; in the 18-month group, 125,203 doses (120%); and in children under 6 years, 145,411 doses, equivalent to 131% coverage. From the state Health Secretariat, 84,829 doses in children under one year (117%), 89,961 in the 18-month group (124%), and 111,035 in children under 6 years are highlighted, reaching 162%, one of the highest reported levels. Protection advances in adults and priority groups. In the adult population, between January 2025 and April 2026, 520,015 doses were applied, consolidating the expansion of coverage in different sectors. Of this total, 439,168 doses were for the general population, 47,791 for health personnel, 21,189 for teachers, and 11,867 for agricultural day laborers, considered a priority due to their mobility conditions. Additionally, extra doses have been given to health personnel, daycares, and the education sector between 20 and 49 years old as part of a strategy to strengthen community immunity. The state agency also reported 11,236 first doses and 43,376 second doses, focused on completing vaccination schedules. Surveillance is reinforced at airports and bus terminals. As part of the operation, epidemiological surveillance and vaccination actions have been set up at airports and bus terminals, with the objective of containing risks of spread. This is added to the role of large vaccination centers, which in recent months have expanded coverage and facilitated access for the population.

Since 2025, nearly one million doses of measles vaccine have been administered in Guanajuato. The state authorities are actively working to cover all age groups, especially children and adults, and are strengthening health control at key points.
