
The Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) in Nuevo León has strengthened and improved its services with eight completed priority infrastructure projects. During the twentieth ordinary session of the Consultative Council of IMSS in Nuevo León, chaired by Tonatiuh Ortiz Castillo, the actions carried out to benefit more than 1 million beneficiaries were highlighted.
In the 2023-2024 period, various projects were carried out, such as the remodeling of the semi-Olympic pool at Social Security Center No. 4 and the opening of 38 beds in the new Hospital Extension Unit. The investment of more than 176 million pesos in the Strategic Conservation Program, aimed at remodeling various hospitals and care units in the state, was also highlighted, covering areas such as bathrooms, pathology, and dietetics.
Additionally, the acquisition of medical equipment was appreciated, such as a magnetic resonator for the General Hospital of Zone No. 72 in El Carmen; the Temporary Hospital adjacent to UMF No. 21; and nine other mammographs and two new tomographs, thus improving services for the insured. Jorge Gaviño Ambriz, general secretary of IMSS, listened to the concerns and needs of different sectors during the session and acknowledged the leadership of Ortiz Castillo, which has led IMSS in Nuevo León to receive awards for its quality of service.
Furthermore, recognitions were given to members of the Consultative Council and to outstanding workers for their career and commitment to service. During his visit to Nuevo León, Gaviño Ambriz also attended the Annual Meeting of Industrialists, where relevant issues for the Mexican economy were discussed. In the field of health, offices have been expanded and areas in different hospitals have been remodeled, aiming to address the population growth in the state.
In summary, IMSS in Nuevo León has made significant investments and improvements in infrastructure and medical equipment, thereby strengthening health services for beneficiaries in the region.
