The Government of the City of Puebla accelerated road rehabilitation works as part of the “Bacheando Puebla” campaign, with the objective of improving mobility and addressing one of the main citizen demands. Work has been intensified in high-traffic areas and in neighborhoods where residents have requested direct intervention. Among the areas where work is already being carried out, the following stand out: San Isidro Castillotla Primera Sección, Jardines de San Manuel, Bugambilias, Amaluquilla, Vista Alegre, Vicente Guerrero, La Noria, Lomas Flor del Bosque, Xonaca, Tepeyac, Hacienda Las Fuentes Segunda Sección, Guadalupe Hidalgo and Bosques de la Laguna. According to the city council, these actions are part of a comprehensive strategy to guarantee streets in better conditions, which will allow for faster transfers, greater road safety, and a better quality of life for Puebla families. Likewise, it was reported that the pothole repair work will be maintained permanently in different points of the capital, in order to expand coverage and respond continuously to the needs of the citizenry. With this campaign, the municipal government seeks not only to address infrastructure backlogs but also to strengthen urban mobility in one of the fastest-growing cities in the country.
On the other hand, through the Operating Body of the Cleaning Service (OOSL), the City Council deployed a comprehensive cleaning operation at key access points to the capital, reinforcing the image of Puebla for the arrival of thousands of visitors during this vacation period. As part of these actions, the Carmen Serdán Boulevard, one of the main entry and exit routes to the city, was intervened, where more than 5 kilometers of roadway were attended to with the participation of over 40 workers, who performed intensive manual sweeping, mechanical sweeping with sweepers, mowing, and removal of accumulated earth, achieving an immediate transformation in the urban image. Complementarily, cleaning was reinforced with mechanical sweeping in the stadium area, another of the most heavily trafficked strategic accesses to enter Puebla, thus consolidating a clean, orderly, and dignified corridor for residents and visitors. This attention responds to a specific strategy from Mayor Pepe Chedraui to recover, dignify, and maintain the main avenues in optimal conditions, demonstrating that cleanliness is a central axis for urban development, tourism, and quality of life.
