Querétaro Will Not Increase Property Tax in 2025

The deputies of the National Action Party (PAN) in the LXI Legislature of the State of Querétaro joined efforts to support the economy of local families, announcing that they will seek to avoid any increase in property tax in the municipalities. The leader of the PAN caucus, Deputy Memo Vega, stated that this commitment extends at the state level and supported the decision of the municipal president of Querétaro, Luis Nava, not to raise this tax in the capital. Furthermore, he assured that the PAN will continue to support measures that favor Querétaro families.

This determination not to increase the property tax is based on forecasts of the national economy, which anticipate a slowdown for the year 2025, with projections of GDP growth in the country of only 1% for the next year, according to analyses by financial specialists. In this context, the mayor of Querétaro, Felifer Macías, ruled out the possibility of an increase in property tax after the update of the cadastral tables.

The mayor explained that the update of these tables follows a legal procedure that must be submitted to the local Congress for evaluation and voting by the committees and the Plenary. In this regard, he emphasized that "there will be no property tax increase for the next year, that is very, very clear," reaffirming the stance of maintaining the tax unchanged for the benefit of Querétaro citizens.
