In Salamanca, Guanajuato, Mexico, the body of activist Cecilia García Ramblas, who was searching for the missing, has been found. Her body was located on March 19, 2026, in the Puerto de Valle community, near a dirt road. Cecilia was abducted by unknown individuals on March 14, 2026, in the Valtierrilla area, also in Salamanca. She was a member of the organization 'Salamanca Unidos Buscando Desaparecidos' (Salamanca United Searching for the Missing). Cecilia's body was found alongside another person's body. However, it was not until March 31 that the authorities deactivated her missing person's file after conducting the corresponding forensic investigations and DNA comparisons. To date, the Guanajuato Attorney General's Office has not provided information on the circumstances of the discovery of Cecilia's body. Cecilia had been searching for her brother since 2021. According to a spokesperson for the collective, Alma Tapia, Cecilia joined the group after her brother, Miguel Ángel García Ramblas, disappeared on March 27, 2021, and was found dead in 2025 on a property on the border between the municipalities of Irapuato and Silao. Alma Tapia stated: 'Cecilia joined the collective after her brother's disappearance in 2021. She participated on several occasions with us in marches and searches. We do not know why this situation occurred, but her body will be delivered to her family as it corresponds.'
