It was reported that she was abducted from her home on March 14 in Valtierrilla. To date, the authorities have not provided details of the woman's murder, who searched for and found her brother on a plot of land between Silao and Irapuato. Article 19 of Mexico and Central America condemned the murder of Cecilia and demanded an immediate, impartial, and thorough investigation with a gender perspective and differentiated approach. The NGO denounced that the female searcher was found dead on March 19, but the authorities confirmed her death until March 31. “This delay reflects the institutional negligence faced by victims and their families,” Article 19 stated. Cecilia García Ramblas was 28 years old and was part of the collective 'Salamanca Unidos Buscando Desaparecidos'. She joined this organization in the search for her brother, Miguel Ángel García Ramblas, who disappeared in the same community on March 27, 2021, and was located dead in 2025. Alma Tapia, spokesperson for the collective 'Salamanca Unidos Buscando Desaparecidos', informed that Ceci, as she was affectionately called, was part of the collective and had been searching for her missing brother since 2021. Cecilia had an active participation in various activities of the organization, such as marches, search operations, and even in the posting of flyers, a task they perform every weekend to place photographs of missing persons on posts throughout the city of Salamanca, in order to make the problem visible.
