The brother of 'Ro' Márquez will be transferred to another prison after a video surfaced showing prison custody personnel using physical violence against the influencer. The Secretary of Security of the State of Mexico has identified and dismissed those responsible for the assault, as well as the Director of the penitentiary where the events took place in Tlalnepantla.
In response to the viral video, the head of the Edomex Security Secretariat determined that it was not appropriate for 'Fofo' Márquez to continue in Barrientos Prison, where he had been serving his sentence for attempted femicide since last April. It was decided to transfer him to another prison to ensure his safety.
The Attorney General's Office of the State of Mexico has also initiated an investigation into the assaults against 'Fofo' Márquez, son of Sandra Alcaraz and Rodolfo Márquez Flores. Evidence will be gathered to identify and punish those responsible for the assault, in compliance with the law.
The video that circulated on social media shows Barrientos custodians subduing 'Fofo', hitting him on the head and stomach, despite his pleas for them to stop. The influencer was sentenced to 17 years and six months in prison and was originally to serve his sentence at Barrientos prison.
The custodians also give him warnings and continue to assault him, even ordering him to take off his clothes. So far, the location of the new prison to which 'Fofo' Márquez will be transferred has not been revealed.
