A video that went viral in recent hours has caused the transfer of 'Fofo' Márquez to a new prison, who was recently beaten by guards at the Barrientos Penitentiary Center in Tlalnepantla, State of Mexico. Originally, 'Fofo', sentenced to 17 years and 6 months in prison for attempted feminicide, was supposed to serve his sentence in the well-known Barrientos prison or 'Black Palace', but after the incident, he will be transferred to the Social Reinsertion Penitentiary Center (CPRS) in Texcoco.
The video shows 'Fofo' Márquez being beaten by at least three prison guards, who hold him, pull his hair, and hit him on the head and sides while he asks them to stop. At one point, one of the guards slams him against the wall, grabs him by the hair, and slaps him, causing 'Fofo' to cry.
After the video was released, the Attorney General's Office of the State of Mexico initiated an investigation to determine responsibilities. The guards involved in the attack against 'Fofo' Márquez have already been dismissed from their positions, according to Cristóbal Castañeda, head of the Security Secretariat of the State of Mexico.
In order to protect 'Fofo's' integrity, he will be transferred to another penitentiary. The 27-year-old influencer, convicted of assaulting a woman in February 2024, will be taken to the Texcoco prison. In the video, the guards can be seen asking 'Fofo' to take off his clothes, after giving him instructions about prison rules, and continue hitting him in the stomach while reminding him of his criminal past.
