The government of Tlalnepantla is stepping up security measures in response to rising crime and the Easter holiday season. As part of these actions, thousands of elements from the National Guard, the State of Mexico Security Secretariat (SSEM), and municipal police have been deployed. Additionally, surveillance on routes in Naucalpan has been intensified with preventive inspections during peak hours to ensure safe travel to work and study centers. The 'San Cristóbal 2026' operation was implemented, with reinforcements in neighboring municipalities such as Cuajimalpa, Huixquilucan, and Miguel Hidalgo, deploying over 100 police officers and 44 additional units.
Elements of the Tlalnepantla General Commissariat for Proximity and Citizen Security detained four individuals allegedly responsible for the crimes of illegal deprivation of liberty and violent cargo theft. The incidents originated from an emergency report alerting to an armed robbery of a blue truck with a white dry box and refrigeration system, which was circulating in the central area of the municipality. Upon arriving at the scene, police located the vehicle and four men attempting to carry out the illicit act. During the intervention, officers found a 16-year-old youth safe and sound, who had been kidnapped by the alleged criminals during the heist. Likewise, during the security inspection, a 9 mm caliber Israeli-made firearm was secured from one of those involved. The detainees were identified as Rafael 'N', 54; Gabriel 'N', 42; Francisco Javier 'N', 48; and Juan 'N', 28. This operation, deployed on Avenida Radial Toltecas, also resulted in the rescue of a minor victim.
