Fatal Bus Accident in Zacatecas

A tragic accident involving an Omnibus passenger bus and a trailer on the Zacatecas-Aguascalientes highway led to 24 fatalities and several injuries. Emergency services are assisting the victims.


Fatal Bus Accident in Zacatecas

On the morning of Saturday, October 26, a tragic accident on the 45 Zacatecas-Aguascalientes highway involved a passenger bus from the Omnibús line and a trailer, causing a rollover and a fall into a ravine. The bus was heading from Tepic to Ciudad Juárez when the collision occurred, increasing the severity of the incident.

As a result of this accident, unfortunately, 24 people lost their lives and approximately five were injured, being immediately transported to a hospital for urgent medical attention. National Guard and Civil Protection personnel arrived at the scene to provide support to the injured and coordinate rescue efforts.

Authorities reported via social media and videos about the tragic crash between the bus and the tractor-trailer. An operation for flagging, perimeter security, and road cleaning was deployed to facilitate the work of the rescue teams at the scene.

The intermittent closure of the Zacatecas-Aguascalientes highway continued while rescue and cleaning work were carried out in the accident area. Authorities detailed that the involved tractor-trailer lost one of its trailers, which was transporting corn, before the bus overturned onto its right side.

In the midst of the tragedy, the National Guard activated the Population Assistance Plan to provide support to those affected by this road accident on highway 45. Despite the difficult circumstances, efforts were made to attend to the injured and remove vehicles from the road to restore traffic as quickly as possible.
