Mayor Chepe Guerrero welcomed Costco and all responsible companies wishing to invest in Corregidora. "We are firm believers in fostering business, social responsibility, and the growth we must achieve together as a society," he highlighted. Patricia Quiles Arteaga, Director of Real Estate and Legal Affairs for Costco Mexico, announced that the new branch will offer over 5,600 national and imported products, including items from its exclusive Kirkland Signature brand. Mayor Chepe Guerrero laid the first stone for the Costco Corregidora branch, representing a $100 million investment and the creation of 360 direct jobs. The branch is scheduled to begin operations by the end of this year at Carretera Estatal 411 s/n, Ex Hacienda San Francisco. Chepe Guerrero stated that the opening of this branch confirms that Corregidora has become a strategic point for investment, thanks to the certainty and constant work to generate conditions of confidence, stability, and a future vision. "Querétaro is already at another level, and Corregidora has the great commitment and great opportunity, with A Paso Firme, to continue advancing to that next level," he added. Additionally, it will feature a parking lot with over 700 spaces, a specialized Japanese food-to-go section called Sushi Room, and, for the first time in Querétaro, a Costco gas station with 16 fueling positions. "The format Costco is working with today is innovative, integrating the store and a service station. We are very excited to bring this format to this great city with the support of the authorities; I am sure we will have a very good response from the citizens," she commented. Costco Corregidora will be the second branch in the state and incorporates components of sustainability and operational innovation, such as LED lighting and a plant for wastewater treatment. In terms of fuels, the station will offer Kirkland Signature gasoline with the international Top Tier Detergent Gasoline certification, meeting standards of quality, performance, and precision in dispensing. It should be noted that Costco has been present in Mexico for 34 years with branches in 21 states, totaling over 900 branches and 147 million members in 15 countries. The event was attended by the municipal secretary of Economic Development, Adolfo Colín; the undersecretary of Sustainable Development of the State Secretariat, Genaro Montes; the senator of the Republic, Lupita Murguía; the federal deputy, Roberto Sosa; local legislators Antonio Zapata and Mauricio Cárdenas; the council president of Economy and Tourism of the H. Ayuntamiento, Esther Carboney; as well as presidents of Chambers, Colleges, and Associations and members of the Municipal Cabinet.
