The initiative, which has already been submitted to Congress, has generated wide controversy not only among the opposition but also in Morena and its allied parties. Amid these questioning, this morning, during her conference held in Jalisco, she brought up the poll that measures her government's upward trend considering a series of aspects, including raising the issue of the electoral reform. «In case anyone had any doubt that, in effect, we are responding to the citizen demand,» the president concluded. The poll asks respondents how much they «agree» or «disagree» with the following topics considered in the proposal,» the survey states, which puts the main points of this initiative up for consideration. For example, it measures the point of strengthening the supervision of the money used in campaigns, with the highest approval at 87%; then it measures the one of reducing the salaries and bonuses of high-ranking officials of the INE, with 85% approval. Other points are modifying the proportional representation in the Chamber of Deputies and Senate so that all positions are elected directly by citizen vote, with 82%; reducing the public money that political parties and electoral authorities receive, with 82%; eliminating re-election in all popularly elected offices, 81%; prohibiting nepotism; 80%; regulating AI, 83%.
