A control judge in San Luis Potosi has bound César Gabriel 'N.' a professor at the Faculty of Sciences of the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosi (UASLP), to process for his probable responsibility in the crimes of family violence and injuries against a graduate of the same institution. The head of the State Attorney General's Office (FGE), María Manuela García Cázares, confirmed the binding and detailed that the accused will face the process under precautionary measures in freedom. Although the initial hearing took place last week, it was this Wednesday when the teacher's legal situation was formalized at the Justice Center in the state capital. Before being bound to process, the professor published a public message in which he rejected the accusations and expressed fear for his family's safety due to the calls for demonstrations at his home. In his statement, the teacher maintained that there are inconsistencies in the complainant's account. 'On December 11, when the events occurred, she published that she had been attacked by my wife. Later she changed her version and said that she had been attacked by me,' stated the professor, who also assured that he has witnesses who can attest that the young woman did not have visible injuries minutes after the incident. 'I am not a danger to students, I have not hit anyone. The people who know me know what my behavior is like.' Regarding the photos that the former student disseminated on social networks showing injuries, the accused denied being the author of such injuries. Finally, he announced that he filed a complaint with the State Prosecutor's Office on December 12. The case has generated student mobilizations at the Faculty of Sciences, where students demanded the definitive dismissal of the teacher after the dissemination of the victim's images. Faced with social pressure and the protests that led to the blocking of roads, the authorities of the UASLP determined to suspend the teacher from his group activities while his legal situation is resolved, as confirmed in a communiqué dated February 9 of this year.
